The entities representing business and workers of the construction sector in Spain and Italy met in Madrid last November 3rd-4th 2016, to launch the European Project Co.tutor. The aim of this bi-national initiative is to improve the participation of the SMEs from the construction sector in the apprenticeship programmes, and to promote the role of the ‘in-company tutor’.
In order to set the bases of the collaborative work and to start the first stages of the project, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, as coordinator of the initiative, hosted the kick-off meeting in its headquarters in Madrid. The partnership is completed with: Confederación Nacional de la Construcción -CNC- (Spain), Associazione Nazionale de Costruttori Edili –ANCE- (Italy) and Ente per la Formazione e l’addestramento professionale nell’edilizia -Formedil– (Italy).
In this first meeting, partners analysed the VET systems in Spain and Italy and made a first approach towards the possible barriers faced by construction SMEs to participate in these learning programmes, host apprentices and complete their training. Besides, other aspects more related to project management and development were dealt with.
After this first meeting, partners will carry out an analysis of the current situation in SMEs that will lead to a series of proposals aimed at overcoming the constraints they find when participating in learning processes. Besides, a systematic strategic roadmap will be designed and a new qualification for the in-company tutor will be created.
